Corrinne (Wright) Tarver was the very first Black NCAA Champion at the University of Georgia and now she has just been selected to be the very first Head Coach of HBCU at Fisk University Women’s Artistic Gymnastics!
“When beginning gymnastics there were very few role models that looked like me. I remember watching Diane Durham, and realizing that a black girl could be the best in the country, I knew at that moment that I wanted to be a member of the US National Team, and be a role model for future black and brown gymnasts.”
Best of luck to Corrine, we will miss her judging here in New Jersey.
