If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to slow down and cherish every moment. Right now it might feel like just another practice or meet, but these are the moments shaping you. Gymnastics will teach you more than skills. It will teach you resilience, confidence, and how to get back up when things don’t go your way. The medals won’ t matter as much years from now, but the memories and the people will. Give your whole heart to this sport while you can. The days feel long but the years fly by and one day you’ll realize just how special this part of your life was as I am now.

Keisha has consistently demonstrated academic excellence throughout high school, maintaining a position in the top 16% of her class of 606 students. She has challenged herself with a rigorous course load, completing 11 AP courses alongside numerous honors classes. As Vice President of the National Honor Society, she has shown strong leadership and a commitment to service. Keisha has also held board positions in organizations such as FBLA, DECA, and EAC, further highlighting her dedication and involvement. In addition to her academic and leadership achievements, she conducted and published research on duckweed DNA, contributing to ongoing studies exploring its potential as a sustainable biofuel.

Gymnastics Achievements:
5Keisha has built an impressive gymnastics career through years of dedication and achievement. As a JOGA gymnast, she placed first on bars for five consecutive years and was the state all-around champion for four of those years. She advanced to the highest level of JOGA, Level 1, before transitioning to XCEL. At Monroe Township High School, Keisha made history by founding the school’s first-ever gymnastics team and has ranked in the top 10 in the GMC each year she has competed. This year, she was also invited to the Senior National Showcase in Florida, recognizing her as one of the top high school gymnasts in the country.

During the 2024–2025 season, I competed in Xcel Platinum and became the Regional All-Around Champion, placing 1st overall.
2022 Season: Competed in Xcel Gold and earned the title of State Beam Champion, placing 1st on beam at the State Championships. This achievement reflected my focus, precision, and dedication to refining my skills.

Words of Wisdom:
Gymnastics has taught me the importance of taking things one step at a time. When I’m on beam or bars, I don’t think about the entire routine — I focus on the skill in front of me. By slowing down and staying present, I perform with more confidence and control. There will always be hard practices, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but those are the moments that shape you the most. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, and you don’t have to have everything figured out at once. Trust the process, stay patient with yourself, and focus on the next right step.
